Tova walked to the spot where the bear invited her to sit.
“Buzz is the name,” the bear introduced himself. His small tender eyes and smile focused on Tova as she fearlessly approached him. He was at a loss for words. They both sat under the tree and enjoyed the warmth of the sun.
“It’s a pleasant day, especially under the sun.” Tova said to break the silence. “Do you guys like sitting under trees?”
Buzz tilted his head downward and his eyebrows followed. “There aren’t many of us left,” Buzz said as he looked far into the distance. “But we do like the sun.”
“That’s for another time,” Buzz grinned. “We should get you back home, it’s getting dark.” Buzz stood up and reached for Tova’s hand. “I know a shortcut,” he grinned mischievously. And it was a shortcut indeed. Within seconds, they were at the edge of the forrest.
“How did we do that? It took me a whole day to walk around…” Tova explained.
“You will know soon enough,” Buzz assured her.
“I’ll come back. I’ll see you soon!”
“Is that a promise?” Buzz asked with a twinkle in his eyes.
Dusk was approaching and her bunny instinct urged Tova to return home. “Goodbye… for now.” She turned around and swiftly ran back home.
Buzz slowly headed back to his side of the forest with his head and shoulders down.
